Korg Monopoly

I’m selling my Korg Monopoly (serial 376968). It’s in perfect working order, having been restored 100% to factory specs by The Synth Professor – Andy at synthprof.com. It’s an incredible instrument. These don’t come on the market very often, and I’ve never heard of one in this condition.

History

Originally owned by one of my oldest friends and musical collaborators, Terry Chimes (The Clash, Hanoi Rocks, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol), this synth was stored at Berry Street Studio for twenty years without being played. I purchased it off him in 2020.

The Synth

The Korg Monopoly is a four oscillator synth, and so is capable of absolutely massive sounds. It’s default mode is as a mono synth, and that is how most people will play it. It has a poly mode, though, where the individual oscillators can be assigned separately. It is pre-MIDI, but transmits and receives Trigger information.

Please watch the video at the bottom of this page. It’s a brief demo, and only scratches the surface of what this instrument is capable of. However, you’ll hear the richness of sound, which is unprocessed in any way, except for the addition of reverb and delay in the section where I demonstrate the arpeggiator.
